The twiGs Family Network
More than just a teacher
“He really inspired something in me...I felt the authenticity, I felt how genuine he was and the passion...that was really inspirational to me as a high school student from Compton.”
former student of one of our award-winning teacher leaders
Founded by Award-Winning Educator and Social Advocate
A South Central Los Angeles native, Founder/CEO of twiGs Creation, Inc., Jason Lee Morgan was a “bussed kid,” and lived firsthand the inequities of our school system having to travel an hour outside of his community on a bus each day to receive a quality education.
His unique experience with public schools and systemic injustice trauma growing up as a young Black male has empowered him to champion engaging and equitable learning experiences for all families who stay in their local district and to elevate the unique assets that exist in the culture and people of communities of color.

Learn more about our SEND Community and Student Ambassador Fellowship
SEND bridges the empathy-gap between segregated high school youth and their families through Food, Arts, and Movement to promote Intercultural Exchange, Leadership & Service, and Youth Development.
The twiGs Family Network leverages the social justice capital of a community of award-winning educators and civil servants from the following organizations
LA Champion Educators
The Los Angeles College Football Playoff National Championship Host Committee, the College Football Playoff Foundation, ChampionLA supporters, and the LA84 Foundation launched Champions Educate Here to identify and celebrate 46 educators—including physical education teachers, elementary and special education teachers, coaches, and after-school staff—who harness the unique power of sport, play, and movement to support the mental health and social-emotional needs of students. These educators use return to play as a context for recovery from the pandemic and find joyful ways in which to reconnect youth with themselves, their peers, their school, and their academics.
Above and Beyond Teaching
For more than twenty years, the Carlston Family Foundation, now Above and Beyond, operated as a private foundation with two main purposes:
Teach Plus CA
Our mission is to empower excellent, experienced, and diverse teachers to take leadership over key policy and practice issues that advance equity, opportunity, and student success.
Through our programs, teachers from across the state learn how policy is made and how it impacts their classroom. We provide teachers with training and opportunities to change and influence policies at the school, district, and state level—achieving change in schools and in the broader education system.
